The Wow of Wallpaper

The impact that a great wallpaper adds to a room cannot be overlooked. The variety of applications allows exciting creativity that a great designer can utilize.

- If there is not an interesting feature in an entry, you can create one for that "Knock Your Socks Off" effect!

- If you want to add a spark to an outdated bath or kitchen, let a stunning wallpaper be the perfect answer.

Create a depth to the back of built-in bookcases or TV alcove with a beautiful textured paper.

- If you don't want an entire room papered, select the best feature wall, whether it is behind a bed, sofa, or bench.

Don't forget the ceiling! Use a complimentary or matching paper extending from the walls. It is especially amazing with higher ceilings of a wrap around effect.

- Murals are making a significant impression in very different and unique ways. Let your walls be the artwork and tell a story in your room.

Now are you ready for a fun change?

Let's get started!

Ann Finefrock Hoffman

The Magic of Custom Window Treatments

Why should you invest in custom window treatments? It is a perfect way to complete your room; plus it helps to absorb sound and visually soften the entire area.

The correct length and width can be tailored and, of course, now you can have that perfect fabric and not settle for something off the 'shelf'! The quality of the lining, which is so important, is much better and the detailing of the style can be very specific.

This is the opportunity for a WOW! look that will have your friends amazed for wondering how they can have something so special! A great designer can select the perfect embellishments with designer tapes, tassel trim, buttons at the pleats; the sky is the limit! And we can't forget the jewelry; that stunning, unforgettable hardware!

The most interesting thing is that custom treatments are not significantly more expensive. Set a reasonable budget and call us for an appointment! Let's start to have some fun and create that magic.

Dear Friends,

Wow! We just returned from yet another energizing trip to the Spring Furniture Market in North Carolina and are so excited to share all of the amazing new style, color, fabric and wallpaper trends with you!

Colors ran through a vast range of greens, vibrant and soft blues, red, blush, and of course, the warm neutrals including black, chocolate and that wonderful toasty caramel.

Metallic features were incredibly featured, whether as a table top, inlay or overlay with wood, or chiseled to form a beautiful artisanal design. Glass was a show stopper crafted as thick fusion design, painted, or simply a beautiful color on doors.

Stunning and exotic wood, including mahogany, birds eye maple, elm, cherry and always that handsome oak were displayed in a variety of techniques including live edge, burl, and bookmatch veneer. Many of those as tables and cabinets were crowned with a beautiful stone top!

Cane and many other natural woven materials were a perfect complement whether on a bed, drawer front, or table top. There is no limit to the creativity of such skilled craftsmen in our industry!

Boucle, velvet corduroy, chunky tweeds, linen, and cotton appeared in solid colors or beautiful floral and geometric patterns. Exotic leather in designer colors and also custom painted create an unexpected touch to any room.

This is just a brief overview of visiting over 30 showrooms in our whirlwind tour and hopefully has whet your appetite for a new and refreshed interior design! Call Diane, Cynthia, Heidi or myself and schedule an appointment for your new design of your dreams!

Have a great day!

The Sky Is The Limit

You may have a new home, or one in which you don't use certain rooms - such as - a living room or dining room, because you implement those functions in a family room setting. The "Phantom room" is a problem that a designer can help you reclaim or create for the first time. The most important thing is to decide how you would like to use the room. Some famous designers and architects have followed the golden design rule that “Form follows function”. I am a true believer in that, and it has solved many problems in the living spaces of my clients.

After you know what you would like to do in that room, It opens up all the possibilities for extra living space. One of my clients turned their dining room into a wine room and lounge. A living room became a playroom for a stay at home mom. In the above picture this artist has a contemporary L shaped room without a good living room space or dining room. We turned this space into a multi purpose room that she could have as a dining/library/office space. This was possible because she has a family room already.

Once we have the function we can help you create that amazing room with color, flooring, furnishings, accents and window fashions with visuals.

Dear Friends,

Early Spring is one of my favorite times of year; Watson and I even have an extra bounce in our steps during our morning walks. Those tiny spring flowers are popping their heads up and the daffodils are exploding in to their sunny yellow radiance. Yes, we’ve conquered another winter in the Tri-State.

It is also a perfect time to “spring” up our homes with a fresh new interior design. We’re “greening“ up our beautiful showroom with amazing new art, furniture, and accessories, ready for a new home. Cynthia and I will soon be attending the High Point Furniture Market and can’t wait to see the new styles, fabrics, and colors for the upcoming season. Stay tuned next month for photos and details

Schedule an appointment today with Diane, Cynthia , Heidi, or myself for a design meeting. We’d love to create your new oasis.

Have a terrific day and we’ll see you soon!

The Ideal Interior Space

Most clients assume there is a specific right or wrong answer to their room challenge. Most of the time, there is more than one solution to take you from where your space is now, to where you would like to take it.

If you are open to suggestion, a talented designer can easily provide more than one option, each of which creates a different "mood" or personality.

The ideal solution is one which takes your lifestyle and personal preferences into account. The ideal space is one which reflects YOU and not your designer's style.

York Wallcovering delivers softly blocked grids in variegated color depths map out a sophisticated wallcovering design in Congo peel and stick wallpaper by Nikki Chu for RoomMates.

The Thibaut Jardin Bloom Mural offers a three-panel set illustrating a dreamy garden of peonies and citrus with birds and butterflies flying about, inspired by an 18th-century Chinese hand-painted panel.

Designers Guild’s range of contemporary geometric patterned wallpapers and wallcoverings perfectly suits the modern trend for more minimalist, abstract design in the interior.

Budget wisely by keeping the "bones" of the design with pieces that are jaw dropping and have your friends asking, "Where did you find that?!"

Our design team is ready to create your WOW! effect. Overall you will save money by not having to replace pieces so often and keep loving those amazing treasures. Effective now, you can enjoy extra savings during our Winter Sale!

It's All in the Details!

For an extraordinary design, remember all of the ingredients in your room. Beautiful ceiling treatments are a great opportunity for amazing wallpaper, faux or contrast painting, or simply an unforgettable light fixture.

And definitely save room for the jewelry; stunning accessories and window treatments that will create a sensational result.
